We are a small-scale rottweiler kennel from Merksplas in Belgium. I live here with my dogs on the settlement ‘de Kolonie’ .That’s why we chose as the name for our kennel “Van de Kolonienhoeve” (literally, the homestead on the colony), which we started in 1998 FCI nr. 3665.
My first rottweiler was “Kazan” whom I bought in1994 from a kennel which promised to send on the pedigree papers but these never arrived. He was a good-natured , sociable dog with whom I followed an obedience training programme.Then came “Ura”, a bitch from the rottweiler kennel “Pagreda” run by Patrick Delahaut. I entered this bitch in several shows and had good results. We bred our first litter from Ura and thus was rottweiler kennel “Van de Kolonienhoeve” born. From Ura with Ringo van de Bollobossen we got Xena, a smallish but brave little thing who was awarded several U’s and CACIB’s and who in 2000 was crowned queen of the BRK. Unfortunately we had to have Xena put to sleep as a result of illness but her memory is still with us.
At the moment we have a few bitches and one male dog ( all of them HD-free) with whom we continue to follow our hobby.
Our aim is to breed a pleasant, sociable and healthy friend and we carefully observe all the rules of the KMSH. The rottweiler is a friend for life, and so we only breed from HD-free parents.
All our pups are from pedigree St. Hubertus and are given scrupulous health checks and anti-worm treatments by our vet. You are welcome to make a telephone appointment with us to see them from when they reach four weeks old.
